The five Howard University co-eds who founded Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. insisted on the highest standards of scholastic achievement. It’s the reason they established scholarship as the first of Zeta’s four guiding principles.
Doing our part to uphold their legacy, the Norwalk Zetas are delivering on our commitment to promote that principle by awarding scholarships to college-bound young women who have demonstrated academic excellence.
During our inaugural scholarship luncheon, “Imagine the Possibilities,” in June 2019, we awarded scholarships to three of Fairfield County’s best and brightest: Samiha Taowsif, Jahnice Gary and Dejanah Lorthe.

The Legacy Continues
During our Finer Womanhood Scholarship Brunch, “Reaching New Heights,” in June 2022, we awarded scholarships to five deserving young women. Chapter member Tasha Hunt, deputy director of Juvenile Probation Services for the state of Connecticut and adjunct professor at the University of New Haven, delivered pearls of wisdom to help send the scholars on their way.
