Atlantic Region Scholarships
The Atlantic Region of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. stands firm in Zeta’s commitment to scholarship. So, it was no surprise that during its 59th Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference held in Hartford during October 2021, members awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships to two college freshman and four Zetas pursuing advanced degrees. Named to honor two of our founders, the individual awards ranged from $3,000 to $10,000. Emerson Tiwang, a Princeton University freshman majoring in computer science, earned the first-place, $10,000 “Myrtle Tyler Faithful Scholarship.”
The Atlantic Region of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Awarded then Syracuse University freshman Natalia Amado a $5,000 scholarship.

And, thanks to a grant from Macy’s, the Atlantic Region awarded Natalia Amado, a freshman computer engineering major at Syracuse University, the second-place, $5,000 “Myrtle Tyler Faithful Scholarship.”

The organization also awarded four, $3,000 “Arizona Cleaver Stemons Scholarships” to Zetas from the Atlantic Region. They were:

  • Monifa Morgan, who was seeking an MBA in Finance
  • Janice Drakeford who was seeking a doctorate in Community College Leadership
  • Jasmine Marshall Butler, who was seeking a doctorate in Education, Culture and Society
  • Tjwana Dennis who was seeking a Doctor of Nursing Practice
